The thrill of climbing 6,153 meters to the top of Stok Kangri in itself is enough to bring excitement and fear together. However it’s not all about the adventure when it comes to this trek. Stok Kangri is one of the most difficult treks to complete in the country. The terrain is rough and the climb is considered to be one of the steepest ascends in the country.

Apart from the geographical difficulties the altitude of the trek results in drop in atmospheric pressure and a drop in oxygen levels as well making it even more challenging for the trekkers as they proceed along the trail. There have been times when batches have returned halfway through the trek due to snow storms and sickness. Also, there are people who have come back without attempting the final climb because of all the above mentioned factors combined. Nose bleeds are a common thing during the Stok Kangri trek and trekkers have high chances of being induced with AMS which means they have to inform about any uneasiness that they feel immediately to the staff members or guide present during the trek. If you make it to the top then Stok Kangri is bound to offer you the out of the world experience. Once you experience the view from the Stok Kangri peak and let it absorb you, not once will you think about the difficulties, challenges and hardships. This trek has the power to turn your general perspective on life around.
